Friends of Cindi (Lane) Cummings invite area residents to join them in supporting Cummings in her fight against Stage IV Hurthle cell thyroid cancer.
A benefit supper is slated for Saturday, June 28, at 6 pm at the Elks lodge in Jefferson. The menu includes beef burgers, beans, potato salad and chips. A free will donation will be accepted. There will be “Team Cindi” T-shirts for sale and a silent auction of items donated by local businesses. Auction items include an iPad mini donated by Wright Tree Service and a log carving by Joby Hoskinson.
Cummings has been unable to work since April after her third round of radiation was completed. She attempted several clinical trials at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and started chemotherapy at the Bliss Cancer Center in Ames in June.
